The Blackout

Ok so our power went out on Thursday at 4:00 and dad had just got his car stuck an hour before and a guy who lived a mile away brought him home. So after the power went out Brenny, Dad and I went and got a bunch of fire wood and brought it in and put on a blanket to let the snow melt off of it because it was covered in snow, and then when it started to get dark we went and got a bunch of candles and lit em. And for dinner we had peanut Butter & jelly sandwhiches, and Brenny had 5. And then we played a carded a game called Horse Coller and then we were going to play Wizard (another card game) but then my mom say Rook (another card game) so she wanted to play it so we did and it is so much fun, but were missing the rook card but the rule book says we can play with out it, and we played teams, so it was me and dad against Brenny and mom and Brenny and mom killed us. So after playing cards we went to bed and we all slept in the living room next to the fire, and my dad had to get up every 45 minutes to feed the fire, but the bad thing is that he barely got any sleep because he couldn’t get to sleep because the couch is to short for him to stretch all the way out, he said “he was cramped up the whole night”. In the morning I found out that I was the only one who got an ok night sleep. And in the morning Brenny found his face between our small dogs legs. So Friday morning for breakfest we had cereal. And then we played half a game of rook and then had lunch and for lunch we were lucky and had gas in the grill so we made hamburgers, cut potatos and soup and to cook the soup we put it in some bread pans and put it on the grill, it tasted so good compared to peanut butter & jelly sandwhiches. And after lunch we went and shoveled and helped our neighbor get unstuck, and when we came back in mom was tacking a nap so we played a game of up words. And then when mom got up we finished our game of rook and dad and I won. And then it was start it was around 5:00 so we started to get the candles ready and I went and got an emergency thing that had a radio and flashlight so we got that out so we could listen to the weather and some music. And by 6:00 we started to get dinner ready and we made chicken and some green beans on a skillet and some bread on the grill. And then it was starting to get really cold because on Friday morning it was 54 and now it was 50 degrees so we played another game of rook right next to the fire, because all the other times we played crads we played in the kitchen. So asfter playing cards we went and got some more wood for the thrid time that day (we got so much wood, we are almost out now), so after getting wood we went to sleep and my dad got a better nights sleep because we brought Brennys bed out of his room and put it in the living room and dad & mom slept on the bed, and Brenny slept on the couch and I slept on the ground again because I couldn’t sleep on the couch I’m to long like my dad. The next morning we got up and looked out side my window and I was looking at my dad and I could see his breth, and then we looked at how cold it was in the house and it was 46 degrees, and then we saw that the roads finaly got plowed so then we could go to Layne and Saras and get warm and get a shower, and the shower felt so good.
And on Friday unhooked our handset phone and hooked up an old phone so people could call us, and then before we left we hooked up our handset so if the power came on we could call the house and tell if the power was on. And at 2:00 or 3:00 we called the house and the power was on. Because my mom had coupons that she bought from us for ATF.
And after that we went home and the power was on and warm, it was nice.

That was our three days of blackout.
